Operator Training Simulators (OTS)

_

PFBs engineering team can offer your facility a complete site specific operator training simulator (OTS) which emulates your process plant and DCS control screens. We strive to be the world’s leading provider of quality dynamic process simulators. We strive to be the leading provider of dynamic process simulators in the world, especially in the Middle East and the oil-rich countries of the Persian Gulf. Our simulators are continuously developed and upgraded by PFB team in-house and has been widely verified by SPGC, NIGC and other major clients as being an accurate dynamic representation of the real plant.

PFB has a reputation for generating dynamically accurate simulations that represent actual plant systems for Operator Training. PFB has provided SPGC (South Pars Gas Complex) with many of its site specific control room operator training simulations worldwide, especially for some of its major production facilities in 3th and 8th refineries over the past 3 years. PFB has provided JBTC (Jam Beheshti Training Center) with all its site specific control room operator training simulators on its giant virtual training project. PFB specializes in the emulation of the control screen graphics. Emulated systems from PFB include Yokogawa, DeltaV, Kerman Tablo, Honeywell and others.

A suitable process model and its simulation are at the heart of OTS. The computer-aided process design and the simulation tools have been successfully implemented in chemical and oil industries since the early 1960s, aiming for the development and optimization of integrated systems.
The commercial process simulation software packages enable convenient development of very complex models with numerous equations. However, no model is completely accurate.
Commercial simulators include Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS (Aspen Technology, Inc.), ChemCAD (Chemstations, Inc.), UniSim Design(Honeywell International Inc.), PRO/II, and DYNSIM (Schneider Electric Software), PetroSim (KBC, Yokogawa).
The PFB team typically uses AspenTech software to simulate the process. Because with the help of this software, more access level and the possibility of making fundamental changes such as modifying thermodynamic models is provided.
We typically use the JavaScript coding language to develop the GUI. Because it will be easier to manage information through suitable libraries such as react and redux. We also use IP21 software to develop OPC, which is most compatible with aspen software.

Operator training Simulator for U-101(gas sweetening unit, MDEA based), Ph.4&5, SPGC
  • Employer: NIGC, Iran

This simulator name is VIRAMINE and its applications are Operator Training (OTS), Control System Checkout, Controls Analysis, Configuration, and Tuning Test Bed, Engineering and Operational Analysis Test Bed. PFB specializes in the emulation of the control screen graphics which is done through OPC-UA development. Emulated systems from PFB include Yokogawa, DeltaV, Kerman Tablo, Honeywell and others. Yokogawa GUI is developed for this project (Based on SPGC CCRs).

Operator training Simulator for Integrated units of 104, 105, 111 (Dehydration, Ethane Recovery, Propane Refrigeration Cycle) Ph.20&21, SPGC
  • Employer: NIGC, Iran

PFB has provided SPGC (South Pars Gas Complex) with many of its site specific control room operator training simulations worldwide, especially for some of its major facilities like Amine sweetening (Our first OTS product), Gas Dehydration, Ethane recovery and Refrigeration cycle in 8th refineries (Ph. 20 & 21, SPGC) over the past years. PFB has provided JBTC (Jam Beheshti Training Center) with all its site specific control room operator training simulators on its giant virtual training project. Also Yokogawa GUI is developed for this project (Based on SPGC CCRs).

Operator training Simulator for natural gas transmission pipeline network
  • Employer: Iranian Gas Transmission Company

Project of SS. & dynamic simulation of Iran 4th zone gas transmission pipelines (4800Km) that defined for display the dynamic simulation advantages and gas dynamic behavior prediction ability, performed by me in 2006-2009 in two levels. Lack of dispatching reports of some cities gas consumption, reduced the simulation results accuracy in first phase of project (steady state), due to gas accumulation effects (line pack). In the second phase, for solving above problems and completion of 4th zone pipeline simulation, all of sideway gas transmission pipeline in this zone are simulated discretely in dynamic mode, and jointed to the main package at last. Within to second phase proposal orders, simulated pipelines between compressor stations (5 compressor stations)are posited in one sub-flow sheet (box) and each of these is saved on a separated file too. In this project, many facilities are added to package software such as, simulation of compressor station mutually, simulation of city gate stations regulators and addition an important facility for definition of any consumption pattern (polynomial). Tubular and graphic charts for display the main results (temperature, pressure and flow) are improvised and users can change its performance.
